One of the nicest places in Nicaragua! Beautyfull cabins in the Jungle (very private) and the best equipet kitchen! They even have an oven! You need to make food for yourself! In the kitchen you find Coffee, honney and more from the Finca! You can even buy fresh milked milk and make you own Jogurt! Nice hikes and great Nature! And very very friendly and helpfull owners! the owner Go to town regularly and give you a ride If possible! We Loved it and would come Back anytime! Greetings Nyima and Marla

This place is every backpacker’s dream! Completely off the beaten track you can get in touch with nature and relax for a while. We did so many awesome things here: chilling in our hammock in the middle of the jungle at our private cabin, baking our own bread, watching the monkeys, making yoghurt from the finca’s fresh cow milk, beautiful short and long hikes, looking for sloths, baking pizza in a stonework pizza oven, barbecuing with fellow backpackers on the finca’s wood and and the last night we had a bonfire. We ended up staying for 10 nights with Harm and Wilma and they are the most generous and helpful hosts you could wish for. These days we had so much fun, lived so pure and did so many activities, yet we saved a lot of money on our backpack budget. Price-quality ratio is literally a 10/10!

Was really looking forward to staying here as it looked so charming and reviews were good. Called ahead to inquire whether our 24' camper would be able to access the place, even sending them the dimensions of the camper. We also inquired whether there was decent WIFI as one of us worked online, absolutely requiring coverage. We were told that the camper could make it, despite having to cross a small river. We were also told that there was WIFI and that it wouldn't be a problem to connect. The 5 km from Muy Muy to the cabins was difficult, rocky and narrow, and when we came to the river, upon crossing it, we sustained significant damage to the body of the camper, ripping the aluminum siding in the back and one side. This was quite traumatic for us. We had driven the camper all the way to Alaska from Canada on terrible roads plus had driven from Quebec all the way to Nicaragua with nary a scratch. We were obviously upset when we arrived. Hosts Wilma and Harm were somewhat apologetic but we felt they were dismissive of the damage. Not long after there was a power outage and we were told that this happens often. WIFI didn't work. Cabin was pretty sparse in terms of comfort. One small old looking cover on the bed, a thin sheet that came off during the night, pillows filled with clunky foam, and a bed that sunk from old springs. For a coffee farm, they offered instant coffee in envelopes in the room (2 provided, never refilled). Shower had no shower head, and, needless to say, no warm, never mind, hot water. These were the primary negatives but there were others. For example, the common area had a bathroom. Garbage was not emptied once during the time we were there and began to overflow. Common kitchen was on a path that went by our cabin, so lack of privacy even though we were told that cabins were away from each other. On the positive side, Wilma allowed me into her home so I could connect to her husband's hotspot to work. When it was time to leave, Wilma and Harm offered to accompany us back to the river crossing to help us cross safely. Instead they stood by filming our crossing, and again we sustained damage to the body. BEWARE if you are thinking of taking an RV or camper there. Although hosts were friendly and the farm had some nice features, the overall experience was not super positive.

If you want the true jungle experience, this is perfect. There is a direct bus from Managua and then a short taxi ride from Muy Muy. The nature is beautiful, cabins are in the middle of the jungle and very private. Pretty much guaranteed to be able to observe a troop of howler monkeys going on abour their day. There is also a unique treehouse overlooking a lake, a jungle shower and a coomunal kitchen with beautiful surroundings. The hike to the waterfall is amazing and there are few more activities to keep a person occupied. Overall, if one wants to experience the rural jungle highlands of Nica, it is a very genuine experience. The coffee is very good too and harvested right at the finca.

Of the beaten path, in the mountains, surrounded by the jungle while lying in the hammock of your cabin or the treehouse, you will feel like this is exactly the place you have been looking for so long. If you are on the way somewhere to Matagalpa or Honduras, you must visit El Escondido. And you would definitely not waste any time even if you made a little detour on the way to or back from Corn Island. But seriously, if all you need is a calm place with incredible Nicaraguan nature and wildlife, here you will get it. Plus, this place still has much more than that. They have a natural stove where you can bake your pizza or bread, there's also a beautiful hike to a waterfall nearby, and if you are lazy, the river flows so close you can hear it humming, there you can have a little dip in the fresh water. They also offer coffee tours and horseback riding. And the owners? They are so kind that they might even pick you up from the town, and once you are in the paradise, they will always treat you with some free bananas here, some papaya there, or invitation for a coffee and so on. By the way, during my stay, they also offered volunteering positions, so you might check that out. As for Muy Muy, there are plenty shops and market to buy all necessary things that you would need for cooking for yourself. The cabins are also very nice, and you will enjoy lots of privacy. And the treehouse is just spectacular with a view over a lagoon and a pool in which you can of course swim. Definitely recommend this place and can't wait to visit again!
