I stayed at Dreamsea for a week in a suite room. It could have been an overall great stay, but the room quality unfortunately did break the experience. Details below. The General Setup: DreamSea is hidden away in the jungle, 5 minutes away from the closest beach. The Architecture of the place is amazing! Relaxing by the pool, or putting my hammock up in the tower to listen to the rain fall are great memories. Be aware that unless you rent a motorbike in town, you are always dependent on car shuttles to take you to any of the beaches or the town. The Crowd: Lots of young, friendly travelers, most people were between 20 and 30, I had a great time with the people I met. Be aware that almost everyone seems to be just starting out surfing and is taking lessons, so don't expect many other more experienced surfers. The Staff: Staff is friendly and usually helpful, some the front office staff could be a bit less "cool" and more motivated. The absolute standout is the Manager Hernan - he is a one man army, managing the place, coordinating staff, driving shuttles, organizing activities, making music, running the yoga classes, ... Most of all, he really cares about his customers having a good time! The rooms: When I first came into the suite room, I was amazed: There is lots of open space, and the airy "windows", wooden floors and high roof create a outstanding feel of the room. This is unfortunately where the good things stop, as there are some major and minor issues with the rooms: There is no AC in any of the rooms, and my suite had a broken fan. As Dreamsea is located in the jungle, nights can be super humid and hot, and without any moving air it's hard to get sleep. After a couple days and the intervention of the Manager, I was able to get a portable fan from reception - but had to hustle about it everyday, as they wanted it back every morning and would not return it by themselves. There are also issues with the water supply, literally every day but one I had to ask staff to do something about it as there was no water to take a shower or flush the toilet. There is no wardrobe or drawer in the room, so you end up cluttering the floor and couch with your clothes. There is no net above the bed, so every morning you wake up with lots of little gecko droppings on the bed. There is barely place to hang wet things to dry in the bathroom. I tried hanging my boardshorts on the shower curtain fairing - which was a bad idea, as they are now ruined with rust stains. Finally, this is the jungle, and there are lots of sounds at night, birds, monkeys, crickets, chickens. It can be loud, but I found it quite enjoyable. That is until the frogs that live by the pool start. The same way a police siren cuts trough city noise, the frogs cut trough the jungle noise with their outstandingly loud, sudden yells. They don't do this every night, but when they are "on", they were keeping half the camp awake.

We had the absolute best time here! Delicious food, great surf instructors, nice pool, fun activities. Only issue was the water for showering ran out on multiple occasions and the dorms could get quite hot but this would not stop us from staying again due to the overall experience being so good!

I had a great week here a few months ago, but there are definitely some pros and cons that need to be outlined for anyone going. Pros: the resort is very nice, feels luxurious when you enter and a pleasant place to stay. Most of the staff are really friendly and welcoming and the beach you surf at is perfect for surfers of any level. The food was generally really good, you feel like you are one with the jungle and the surrounding area is beautiful. Cons: - unfriendly receptionist on entry - surf instructors knowledgeable, though the main one is quite strict and doesn't make the nicest learning environment. - some days we only surfed for 1 hour, didn't get nearly as much surfing as we expected, and almost everyone agreed the 1 hour theory sessions each day were pointless and wasted time that could be in the water. I've surfed at 2 camps since where we were in the water for 4 hours a day. One week at dreamsea we maybe surfed 7/8 hours in total. - in a very remote location, 45 minute walk from the beach and no where to eat or go outside of the surf camp, so you feel very restricted to the camp. - no hammocks or lounging (this could have changed as we said this at the time). - they tried to add a lot of extras to our bill at the end, be sure to check this. Overall, I had a brilliant time here, though this isn't solely down to the camp as there were various things that could have been better, and this was felt widely within the group. I wouldn't stay again solely because I felt the surfing was lacking. I've been to two other surfcamps since and in both of them we received about 3x more surfing each day.

We did a one week surf camp. The service is beyond expectations for a very competitive price. Our surf level has drastically improved thanks to the local surf instructors that will come in the water with you. Surf theory lessons are also great and prepare you for going surfing on your own which is extremely valuable. The yoga lesson on top of the giant bamboo house are on point and allow you to treat your body after those heavy days. The food is very tasty and breakfast are big enough to sustain you until an afternoon snack ! There are many activities proposed beyond surfing that allows you to meet the people you're spending time with. The only drawback would be the rooms : they are beautiful, all in wood an bamboo, but both the floor and beds are very squeaky so be sure to bring earplugs ! Other than that : just go for it!

What a beautiful place! I loved Dreamsea Nicaragua. First of all the staff is amazing. Surf instructors, bar and restaurant staff, reception. Everyone was so kind and friendly! The food is excellent, many options for breakfast! The rooms are clean and spacious, the commons areas are always clean . Definitely recommended!
