  Expensive basic,they put a small fridge in as requested, no English on reception, no sunbeds around pool strange

  The rooms without ac are HOT. The fan is super slow. Breakfast was included and tasty. Room and bathroom was clean. Gated parking , fast wifi and pool.

  Stayed 3 nights deluxe room. Oversized room with effective AC, WiFi, furnished balcony, the pool & gardens. well maintained & unexpected shuttle service to beaches & downtown sister hotel, Oro Hostel. helpful multilingual staff & extra service. eg coffee before opening & great breakfasts & Hotel Van took me to Costa Rican border. You are in a quiet part of San Juan del Sur, 2 blocks from the beach, walkable to the action downtown. Nothing fancy but a comfortable stay value priced in a good neighbourhood. I took a chance after reading other reviews but I was well treated well & recommend.

  Horrible!! Don’t trust TripAdvisor! Feels like they are paying not to have bad reviews posted. The JERK that “greets” you pretended he had no idea about our paid reservation. He walked off, offered no attempt to figure out the situation and went back to laughing with some local friends of his. Luckily had become friends with our local driver and his brother from Granada who saw the confusion and turned back to help us sort it out. The smug guy waved us off daring us to “go call.” I called the number in the confirmations emails and THE CELLPHONE IN HIS POCKET STARTING RINGING. HE TURNED BRIGHT RED AND TRIED TO SILENCE IT. Our friend called him out on it! Finally said ok ok ok and got our room. Broken AC, ONE STAINED FACE TOWEL NO BATH TOWELS FOR TWO OF US. We didn’t even unpack, kept our valuables on us as we went to explore the city and beach, used the room to nap for about 3 hours, didn’t use the shower, and ran out of there. COUPLE BEHIND US HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND WERE STILL ARGUING WHEN WE LEFT! Even our local friends wanted to slap him when we talked to them the next day. YOU BETTER BE FLUENT IN SPANISH, LOCAL, AND READY TO ARGUE AND STAND YOUR GROUND IF YOH WANT TO STAY HERE! GOOD LUCK!

  It’s a block away from the beach yet the rooms are inexpensive compared to the town. This place is also on your way to the more upscale houses and not very far from the Jesus statue. The staff and service is top notch and the owners own a number of other establishments and can help out with transportation to the various surf spots.
