  During my stay in Leon, I had the pleasure of meeting Fran and Jose, the friendly hosts of a relaxing hostel. After booking for one night, I learned that the hostel had two solar panels, piquing my interest as a solar engineer. Fran informed me that the PV system wasn't working due to a faulty inverter and offered me free accommodation if I could help troubleshoot the issue. The next day, I climbed the tricky roof and, with limited equipment, identified the issue as the inverter. An electrician was called to fix it. The hostel itself is peaceful and offers a great breakfast with cooking essentials. I enjoyed a movie night and a delicious German dinner with Fran, Jose, and other backpackers during my stay. Jose is a helpful friend, always willing to translate English to Spanish and teach a few Spanish phrases. The hostel is conveniently located near the prime area and is perfect for those who appreciate simple things in life.

  DO NOT STAY HERE PARTICULARLY IF YOU'RE A SOLO FEMALE TRAVELLER. The owner comes across very friendly but he is a creep and he made inappropriate comments about my feet and came into my dorm, riffled through my backpack and stole a bag of my panties which when I later confronted him about, he admitted to it and had hidden them in the reception. He even had the audacity to claim that I was being crazy and was always losing things. I had to check out 2 nights early (and so did 2 other women) and stay in substandard accommodation elsewhere due to feeling completely unsafe and preyed upon.

  Really nice hostel with a very friendly and kind owner. The hostel felt really like home and the location is perfect. There’s a kitchen and breakfast in the morning. I would definitely come back. ✨🦋

  Loved my experience at the hostel. Very chill and a quiet location. The look and the feel of the place was very cool in my opinion and snapped some really cool photos. The owner Frank is a very friendly and warm guy. He was very informative about Leon and Nicaragua in general. He even took another guest and I to a nice restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend for low budget travelers!

  Very nice and relaxed hostel. Great location, well equipped kitchen and nice common area. It’s not the newest facilities but absolutely okay for the price. The staff is 24h around and always ready to give advise, help with unusual projects (sewing) or even organise dinner events for the whole hostel. Would definitely recommend staying here
