::Decent hotel rooms and their food was also good which is important because you can't really go out for dinner. We rented a motorbike while staying here and it's best to be back by sunset as the road isn't well lit and unpaved. They have one of the most decent steaks we tried while traveling Central America. They know how to cook a perfect medium rare steak. We stayed in their standard room that is away from the lake which was also nice because there are so many fireflies by the backyard at night.

::We had a lovely stay. First impression of the room is what smells like palo santo- I think they smudged the room prior to our arrival, which I LOVED. The service was wonderful, the farm is beautiful. We stayed many places in Nicaragua and this was my favourite. It was windy and the trek off the main road is a but rough but nothing our motos couldn’t handle. See you next time!

::We loved the location next to the sea (=it's pretty windy at the breakfast area and the accommodation closer to the waterfront), the access road leading through banana plantation and wetlands full of birds. We've stayed in a room far from the water but in front of the wetlands and we absolutely loved chilling in the hammock and observing the birds! There's so many flowers and trees through out the property, lots of them blooming - really beautiful. The food is on more expensive side especially when you add tax and service. I've only tried their chicken sandwich which didn't look great when they brought it, also it came with like 7 pieces of fries, but was actually really delicious! Rooms was fine, god mosquitoes net on the windows, comfy bed and spacious bathroom. The only issue we've had was the breakfast - portions are sadly small, not greatly flavored, missing any love (typico contains 2 tiny slices of baguette that together make barely a slice of toast, gallo pinto, eggs, cheese. Once I've asked for extra plantain hoping to get plantain a la plancha, but they brought plantain chips:/). We were leaving every morning dissatisfied and hungry heading straight for some good breakfast elsewhere on the island. I really think the breakfast should be seriously improved, it was the worst during out entire Nica trip. Service was professional and friendly, but English doesn't get you very far in this hotel, if you don't speak Spanish like myself, itlly be a bit of struggle...

::Fantastic hotel. Great location right next to the shore. There were many colorful flowers everywhere. The breeze blows all the time and you sleep to the waves of the lake. We went in January, so there weren't many guests. The hotel staff were very friendly and answered all our questions. They work with local guides to pair them with hotel guests, if you were interested in hiking the volcanoes. They also rent bikes and horses. They actively try to fix any issues. They tell you everything there is to do on the island when you check in, marked on a map given to you. The room was a spacious log cabin with chairs and a small table outside looking towards the water. There was a sofa included inside. The design of the bathroom and the whole room was magnificent and felt cozy. The shower had hot water, which is a plus in Nicaragua because hot water straight from the shower is considered a luxury. The only way most locals will get hot water is by boiling it and showering with a bucket. Room service come by every day to clean the room and fix up the beds. There's a safe in the room, but we didn't use it and our belongs were untouched. They leave a pitcher of water in the room with you, along with some cups. They leave a free Bible in the room to read. There's a remote-controlled AC unit, but it wasn't even needed because it always felt fresh and cool being so close to the lake. The restaurant had great local food with breakfast included. The staff recognize all the guests. Juan Jose attended to us. The service was fast and friendly. They answer any questions you have about the island and are easy to converse with about other matters. There was a bunch of seating with nice wood chairs and tables. The bathrooms next to reception were a little cramped, but well-stocked and fancy-looking. The breeze can be strong even with tarps in place to prevent that, but it wasn't too bad and felt good. My only complaints are the path to get here, the WiFi situation, the presence of ants, and the lack of showering soap. The path takes a couple minutes through a rough dirt road that has some big bumps along the way. It takes you through the San Juan farm first where the hotel gets its name. The path looks very scenic, at least, because you go through a plantation farm and then a swamp. It feels like you're trekking to a hidden gem, and it's worth it, but the road could be paved better. The WiFi gets knocked out sometimes and the staff has to repair it. They also warn that the heavy winds may affect the WiFi signal. We had the furthest away cabin, cabin 1. I was only able to connect to the WiFi briefly the very first time we entered the room, but after a few minutes, I lost it. It seems like the signal never quite reaches this cabin, which is unfortunate because a big reason we chose this hotel was for the free WiFi. At least the workaround is that you can go sit at a picnic bench outside closer to the router where the signal is stronger, but the rough winds and wildlife make it less convenient than using it in your room. The staff at least recognize this and try to fix it when they can, and they did offer to waive the extra costs for our extra guest as compensation. They don't provide shower soap, which you might consider to be commonplace in most hotels. They do provide a container affixed to the shower wall that holds shampoo and a little bottle of conditioner, but no soap anywhere. I feel if anything should go missing, it should be hair product, but not soap. I think, unfortunately, this is one of the many cost-cutting measures you'll see in Nicaragua when it comes to their restrooms. We noticed a couple ants in the room and bathroom. Not a lot, but enough to notice. It's not really that abnormal in Nicaragua to have insects in the home, especially since the log cabins are outdoors. I've seen worse than just ants, like insects that bite and hordes of ants and big spiders and roaches. Thankfully, we've only seen a few ants, but if that bothers you, that's worth noting. Overall, a fantastic hotel. I recommend.

::Excellent service, rooms are very clean. The lake is beautiful. Came in September so the place wasn’t full. Good for a group. Will definitely return. My only concern was the cockroach that was hiding under the sheets but we had no other encounters after that. Id like to highlight Alejandro and Juan, our servers. Both were amazing, attentive, hospitable, patient, and kind. The pesto, chicken sandwich, and margaritas were all good.
