I went with a group of 7 friends. Our tour was fantastic and our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The water levels were a little low due to little rain fall but we still enjoyed all the parts of our trip and were able to cliff jump still in several places. We went into town for dinner one night which was a nice break from rice and beans. The food selection is a little limited if you stay at their homestead. We stayed at their lodge which is surrounded by lush foliage and beautiful hills of green but the rooms themself are a little dingy. Expect more of camping conditions with bugs and some dirt. The restrooms and showers are in similar condition. It would be uncomfortable if anyone was expecting a hotel but otherwise, I can’t recommend this company more for their hospitality, generosity and accommodating business. We also did a 4 hour horse ride to see some amazing views of the canyon and it was an amazing experience especially for the price they offered it.

Somoto canyon tours were a wonderful experience. We did the 6 hour excursion Our tour guide, hectors (or henrys) brother, was absolutely fantastic. He gave us facts about a lot of the things that we saw and pointed out spiders, bats, birds and bee nests for us. It was extraordinary. Make sure to bring sunscreen and proper shoes. Be careful with your glasses as depending on the season there are strong currents and a cliff jump (very small, however you will lose your hat/glasses). There was a part that I slipped and hurt myself (down a current) and my tour guide was concerned and made sure I was okay. The entire canyon is absolutely breath taking Río Coco is a MUST SEE if you're looking to take in only some of the many beauties of nicaragua. The food was wonderful, tour guide was fantastic and our driver was very nice. Overall a 10/10 experience and a tourist/local must see at least once

Wow I had a fantastic experience with our guide Johnny. You can tell he loves what he does. I am super happy to support him and his family with these tours that they started together. He us from Somoto and used to go to the canyon since he was a child. I took the 4 hour tour for 30 USD. The tour was amazing and took the whole time, not including the lunch that came with the tour. It included a lot of swimming, walking, and a boat ride at the end so I felt like good exercise as well. Somoto canyon is incredibly beautiful. If you get a chance to experience it you should. Treat the canyon and the people from there with gratitude, humility, and respect.

We had a really good time at somoto canyoning tours. Their service is excellent!! We stayed two nights in a private room and did the long canyoning tour. They gave detailed information about how to get to somoto and picked us up at the busstation. The family was very kind and helpful, the food was good and the rooms were nice. We felt really welcome. Canyon was beautiful and the guide was nice. Brian took us after the canyon tour to the horse parade in town. So much fun! Somoto tours is definitely not your average tour operator, they do an excellent job and go an extra mile for you. Definitely recommend this!

We did the four-hour canyon tour with our fairly adventurous kids (aged 6 and 8) through Somoto Canyon Tours and we loved it. Our guide Johnny was fantastic and made us feel super safe. The views were amazing. The four hour tour includes hiking, wading, floating (on tubes or in your lifejacket), rock jumps, beautiful views, and a boat ride. At one point I said to my husband “this reminds me of the Narrows in Zion, but more fun”! We stayed in one of their four-bed dorm rooms so we could leave early in the morning on our tour. We ate dinner, breakfast, and lunch on their property. The family, including the owner Henry, was very welcoming and kind—and staying there made everything so easy! We had our own transportation, but they can also pick you up in Somoto or at the Honduras border if you don’t. The night we arrived we got a bonus farm tour and the kids even got a mule ride! We communicated via WhatsApp with Brian in advance. From the time we contacted him about five days before the tour he was frequently in touch about the level of the river and what what might be required of our kids. The weather was in our favour, so by the time we got there all jumps were optional (but the kids loved doing some of them anyways)! We highly recommend these guys!
