  An old school and so relaxing hotel. Great view on the river. Good rooms. Great staff.

  If you are going to El Castillo, this is the place. My second visit here. The first time in March 2022 was just a day trip. Nena hosted for her sister the owner and was very engaging with a great personality. I decided at that time that I would stay here on my next trip. We spent one nite on the way to Greytown aka San Juan Norte. Then 2 nites on the return. Very friendly hosts. Julia and Nena work their hardest to make sure the guests are attended to. Good beds. Good bathrooms. Aircon cold. Excellent food and service. They can help with river plans for excursions, arrange massages, etc...

  The best accommodation in el Castillo - extremely clean. Very comfortable room with fridge, air con and hot shower - huge comfortable bed. Great views from the upstairs verandah and from the dining room of the castle and the river. Very good breakfast with several choices. Extremely friendly hosts, can't do enough to help. Highly recommend.

  When we arrived in El Castillo at night with the last lancha, local inhabitants told us to go to Hotel Victoria. At the end, we stayed at this amazing place for three days. The double bedroom was really comfortable and the bathroom has hot water, the view over the river from the hammock and the terrace is gorgeous, the food is tasty and, last but not least, the sisters are fabulous, very sweet, funny, incredibly helpful and, most of all, made us feel like home. Thank you so much! We'll be back for sure. I highly recommend.

  FABULOUS place to stay. It was so nice, we stayed for an extra night. Having meals in the beautiful restaurant overlooking the river, reading a book on the upstairs patio, comfortable rooms with hot water, and the NICEST hosts. Do yourself a favor and order the caramel flan with a cup of coffee. El Castillo is my favorite place in Nicaragua. An adorable little town along the San Juan, no cars, friendly people!
