Older hotel with older charm, centrally-located, rooms are simple but very clean, nice and helpful staff and owner.

Very nice, surely the most quiet hotel in town. Very clean, nice price, lake wiew and a calming smell of wood. Nice pizza restaurant door to door also selling cold beers!

This is a nice place by San Carlos standards. It is on a quiet cul de sac in the heart of town. I recommend it if you are visiting. I was in #15 in the courtyard, which was larger the the other I saw. If you're driving, you want the courtyard. The room was clean and serviced each day. It had Air Conditioning, though I'm not sure all rooms do. Staff was pleasant, and the night clerk speaks good English. Breakfast at Don Leo's next door was included and not bad at all. It is one of the best in town and quiet. I got an excellent steak there for a song. There is no hot water in San Carlos and the municipal water pumps don't run every day, so get your shower when you can. I was with a large group on a medical mission and, from the reports, it was by far superior. Our middle class local translator's family stayed here when they visited San Carlos, which is a good sign. I didn't hear complaints from any of the other members of our team that stayed there other than no hot water.

Hotel was clean. Night security guy was nice and spoke English. Paid more than expected for no ac and no tv. Walls were very thin, so thin that you could see light from the other room through the cracks. Manager and maid were both rude.
