  Coco Loco is incredible, not just because of the location or the hotel itself, but the team is the absolute best. I was lucky enough to run a retreat there in January 2023 and was so please with the quality of the service provided. From planning the retreat and then leading it throughout the week, I always felt supported by the Coco Loco team and staff. They truly care about you having the best experience, they are super involved, and you can tell they love what they do. If you're considering traveling here or even hosting a retreat, I promise you won't be disappointed. HUGE THANK YOU to everyone at Coco Loco for making our week epic.

  Great experience. It almost doesn’t feel like an eco resort. Very clean, you do shower and go to the bathroom outside but it was very clean and a liberating experience. It’s warm but fans are provided and are nice in the evening to help keep cooler to sleep. Staff is incredibly thoughtful and very kind. They had me up on a wave within minutes of trying. Food is excellent.

  The ultimate paradise destination for your vacation! Seriously, I can't speak more highly of the facilities, employees or the ethos of Coco Loco. We stayed 8 days, and during that time I surfed at least 12 times with expert instruction and friendly camaraderie with the staff. We ate four meals a day, and each was prepared masterfully and beautifully using only the freshest local ingredients- literally the best I've eaten in years! The resort campus is meticulously maintained and out of this world beautiful. By the end of this trip, I felt I had a new family in Nicaragua. Oscar, Esekiel, Alvaro, Fransisco, Gerald, Araselli, Hazel and every other staff member are some of the kindest, hardest working people I've ever met. They genuinely care whether we had a pleasant experience and it shows in all the details and long hours. Seriously, the surf will spoil you, the massages will soothe you, the food with nourish body and soul, and the views and sound of the ocean are enough to make you want to stay forever.   We just got back from Nicaragua. Our week at Coco Loco was definitely the highlight of our trip. We took our 4 kids (ages 11-20) and were a little worried about the civil unrest earlier in the year. Once in Nica and Coco Loco, those fears vanished. The vibe down there is so safe and friendly we didn't think twice about it (I left my laptop (and our kids' phones) charging up in eating/common area unattended for hours on end without any worry that they would disappear). We spent tons of time in the water, we had surf lessons and were all paddling into and catching waves by the time we left. Food was ridiculously good. Yoga's not my thing, but we even enjoyed that part too. Fun to meet new people, hang out at the big communal dinner table, and just chill. The beach right out in front of the beach house was perfect and had some great waves. We hung out there surfing most nights until it was too dark to see. We hiked a couple volcanos, went volcano boarding, horse-back riding on the beach, bonfire on the beach, etc. We were not bored, but it was good that there was time to nap if we wanted since the early morning surf sessions can wear you out. It's an eco-friendly resort, so no A/C in the cabanas and they have composting toilets. Which we were a little leery of. It turned out to be a total non-issue for us, but it might be a surprise to some travelers. It's hot during the middle of the day, but the fans and winds kept it pleasant. We got a few bug bites, but way less than what we experienced when we went to Big Corn Island later in our trip to Nica. I can't recommend this place enough. One of the owners, Ben, and his family was on site while we were there and he was super friendly, helpful and accommodating. They've done a good job hiring really friendly and talented staff and surf instructors. This was our first time to Nica, but we're already trying to figure out what friends to go back with next time. Our kids are already reminiscing about it.

  Coco Loco is a real gem! I travelled solo there and met great people, amazing vibes over there with great waves to surf (learn or advanced), awesome yoga sessions on a beautiful deck with a stunning view! The food was delicious and really enjoyed both breakfasts. The crew is really nice and friendly (hosts and staff), and plenty activities can be organized for you. Price is very fair. The view, atmosphere is just amazing and I didn't want to leave so ended up staying two extra nights. I had a small medical issue with an ear infection and everyone was so nice and even organized bringing some medicine from a pharmacy. Definitely won't forget Coco Loco!!
