  We recently had the pleasure of staying (again) at Bella's wonderful beachside surf lodge in Playa Popoyo, Nicaragua. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views of the ocean and the cozy atmosphere of the rooms. The location is unbeatable - just steps away from the beach, and with easy access to great surfing and beach-side cafes. The surf lodge itself is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the beds were super comfy (and the sound of ocean waves just outside the slatted door certainly help!). The outdoor space is my favorite part of the home - the covered patio and hammock gazebo have great ocean views and are perfect for enjoying morning coffee or watching the sunset. Bella, the owner, and Petrona, the property manager, are also incredibly friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for local restaurants and activities. We have stayed here twice in the last five years - once as a couple, and more recently as a family with a four-year-old. We have always felt right at home during our stays here and would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for the absolute best beachside getaway in Popoyo.

  We kept extending our stay, it is hard to leave a place where you feel at home. Sleeping with the sound of the waves, waking up with an ocean view, beautifully decorated breezy rooms (no aircon needed!) and walking distance from multiple really good surf spots. I really recommend this place for everyone who loves simple beach life and surfing :)

  Staying at Bella’s was the highlight of our Nicaragua trip. The beautiful house, the feeling of coming home, ocean view, the sound of the waves rolling in, Ad a host, Isabelle makes sure you have everything you need. 100% recommend!

  Beautiful place and beautiful host. This place is beautifully decorated , private and right on a pristine , vast beach. You have everything you need including a big shared kitchen to prepare and store your own food. The owner Bella is so sweet and helpful and we LOVED our surf lessons with her. We are COMPLETE beginners and she was so patient and kind with us. If I’m ever back in popoyo I would 100% stay here again. Thanks for everything Bella !!!

  I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Sirena Surf House. It really is a great spot for relaxing right on the beach but plenty of long walks and swimming are available if you like to be more active. I wouldn’t be worried at all about not having A/C, the fan worked so well I was actually cold and had to turn it down! The beds are super comfy and there were some thoughtful touches in the room like drinking water and books to read. Internet at the beach can be a bit spotty so if you’re planning on heavy streaming I would download what you want beforehand. I had my very first surf lesson with Bella who made me feel like I was in the hands of a professional and had nothing to worry about. It’s not as easy as it looks but I can’t wait to try again and will be back soon. Thanks for everything!!
