::My wife and I spent 2 days at Selva Negra Resort and Restaurant. Did the coffee tour with Jose who was also does guides for hiking and bird studies. This forest is absolutely beautiful surrounded by large trees and small lake next to the restaurant. The lodging options were great with small twin bed rooms to larger 2 bedroom casitas nestled in the forest. We ate 6 times at the restaurant and all the meals were excellent. We are already making plans to return and experience more hiking and bird watching in this beautiful forest of Selva Negra. I have included some of the pictures of our stay below.

::Very nice restaurant with delicious food! Directly next to a small lake with a lot of animals and within the woods. Really harmonic and relaxing!

::Definitely worth coming. The climate is more temperate and lots of challenging trails if you are an experienced hiker. There are a couple easier trails but the majority require a reasonable fitness level. The accommodations are decent if a little spartan but everything is clean and well looked after. Some of our group did the coffee tour and really enjoyed it. Weekends have a good buffet for breakfast and dinner. The a la carte menu is not large but there is a little something for everyone. All the food is sourced locally at the farm and the coffee is really good. We drank a lot. The food is probably a 3.5 out of 5 so don't expect gourmet but it is good and well priced. The only surprise was that breakfast was not included in the room rate. If we had 1 complaint it would be the lack of a comfortable lounge chair or Hammock to park yourself in with your favorite book and beverage.

::Peaceful and beautiful. We visited for the day and enjoyed walking in the woods and eating some surprisingly amazing German food at the restaurant. Would totally recommend this place for anyone who wants quiet time in nature. Be sure to check out the fairytale chapel.

::Beautiful place to stay and the chapel is amazing. The food was great and the coffee tour was a lot of fun, even without it being harvest season (would LOVE to go back when it is!). We even met the owner Eddy who was very nice!
