  This fort located in San Carlos was built in the 17th century to face the multiple incursions of pirates and other colonizers who wanted to have control of navigation on the San Juan River in Nicaragua. Its restoration began in 2000 and now houses the José Coronel Urtecho Cultural Center, which has recreational areas, spaces for events, and a museum of pre-Columbian history.

  This place is the best! We ate here everyday for 4 nights and loved the food, people, atmosphere, band and view! Breakfast lunch or dinner the food is exceptional! The owners are super friendly and our waiter Carlos was so entertaining! We definitely recommend this place to everyone heading to San Carlos!
