  One of my favourite hostels by far! Roman and Barbra were incredible hosts. They go above beyond to ensure you have the best time in Ometepe- they organise safe scooters for you to rent, day trip activities and getting you to your next destination safely. The food was incredible, my friend and I never went anywhere else to eat we loved it that much.

  Unfortunately the worst accommodation we’ve stayed at during our trip across Central America. Host was terribly rude and making a fuss when we asked if he could compensate the costs (100 cordobas) of the tuk tuk we took when we arrived (stated on Hostelworld that this is their policy). However, he yelled at us that we paid too much and made insults that he isn’t our mama and that we weren’t active enough around the hostel? He didn’t seem to understand our shocked reaction after his intense comments and afterwards he even tried to rip us off by charging us double for the sandwiches we ordered, trying to argue even more while we really wanted to go because we needed to catch our ferry/felt judged by our behavior and calling us “motherfuckers” behind our backs thinking we wouldn’t hear… He seemed extremely overworked and created a negative atmosphere during our entire stay. He also talked other places and accommodations down on the island. Furthermore, he was smoking the entire time and no other guests were comfortable sitting close to his overly loud music. A harsh and somewhat neurotic man that seems unfit to run a hostel. Also, the accommodation looked literally more like a child’s playground than a place to hang out. Our room and bathroom were full of ants and didn’t feel clean. No possibility to refill your water bottles, but have to pay for it. Hostel is far from the touristic spots on the island, take in account a minimum of 45 minutes driving on a moped which is long when it’s dark. Overall, we would never stay here again.

  Can only agree with most of the other reviewers here. The house restaurant is fantastic and reasonably priced for both breakfast and dinner. The owners are friendly and welcoming and happy to help organise transport and trips around the island when requested. Bedrooms are basic but have everything you need for the price. I really liked the location, being a little bit out of town gives you a much quieter evening/night whilst still giving you great access to the rest of the island.

  Great hostel! Rooms are cheap, clean and with big comfortable beds. The in house restaurant is very good. The owner (Roman) is super nice and super helpful! A great place to start your journey on the island! The only drawback is that some of the attractions are far, so after two nights it’s probably better to move to the other side of the island.

  A true gem! Atmosphere is truly special and the hosts are nothing short of amazing. Food is the best we've tasted on the island and is consistently great. Price point is spot in fir the area and we make it a point to visit at least once a week. It's also where we take our guests as they are all universally happy with their experience and meal.
