  Terrible care I went with my wife because she had labor pains and they sent her to sit down and wait, they didn't even see her to see if the baby's heartbeat and movements were okay. It is the worst hospital in Nicaragua. Anyone who goes there in an emergency unfortunately dies and is worst case that there are women giving birth and in the delivery area there are dogs in the corridors and an unbearable smell. The doctors are kids who are not even over 20 years old, they have no experience, it is the most garbage hospital I have ever known

  It is a public hospital located in the city of Masaya. The only hospital in the department and care for national and foreign patients is free. It is a hospital that fills up its emergency room, both pediatric and adult. That is why there is a delay in medical attention. People do not have the habit of going to primary care but rather go to the hospital even for the flu or a headache. Emergencies are attended 24 hours a day and include basic specialties in Pediatrics, gynecology, general surgery and internal medicine. Also specialties such as orthopedics, pediatric surgery, urology, plastic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, maxillofacial, psychology, nutrition, endocrinology. It is attended in external consultation, emergency and hospitalization room. Because of the easy access to the hospital and to be treated faster, people prefer to go to the hospital than to a health center. One of the best hospitals in Nicaragua.

  In Nicaragua, hospital care is free and is provided in popular hospitals like this one. Here you can come for a consultation with your INSS insurance card or show up without any documentation or money and you will always be attended. There are many specialties here and very complicated cases are transferred to Managua.

  One of the greatest heritage of a communist party-country-etc is -a part from public schools, better distribution of wealth, etc- public health. Me and my girlfriend were food poisoned -worst I´ve had in 31 yrs of life- and we ended up going to this hospital. It looks old, it looks its falling a part, but there´s really good and effective attention, and it´s all free, even for foreigneres like us. You can tell the infraestructure and equipment is not the same than a private clinic, but still they manage to give you good and personal attention, and medications, all for free.
