This place is M A G I C! Our time and Salt Escapes was absolute bliss. Rachel, Matt, Mark and their team didn't miss a beat. The heart and soul they put into offering the most seamless stay and experience is reason enough to keep you coming back. Together they've manifested Salt Escapes to provide the comforts of home, amongst the power of the ocean and the heart of the Nicaraguan people. Go~! You'll love it!

The absolute best place to go if you want to relax. You are out off the beaten path, but in a gorgeous, luxurious place. The exotic black (volcanic) sand beach is something to see! The main villa is super exquisite. The pool is perfect! The chamber maid will also make you your meals for gratuity, and she is amazing! The people who run Salt Escapes are a couple of the nicest people I have ever met. Super accommodating! One is an RMT who is amazing at massages! Very important to listen to their advice when it comes to food stocking and transportation to and from the resort, don't venture on your own, you'll be sorry. Definitely a place to consider for your next trip. I would recommend going during their off-season. Everything is super green and not as busy. You may have the whole villa to yourself, which we did. Makes evenings on the terrace something to remember, since you won't have anyone around to see you. Super private and serene. You will not regret coming here! I would give it 10 stars if I could!

The Salt Lodge Restaurant and Salt Escapes is home away from home in Nicaragua. The hosts, Matt and Rachel, understand everything there is to see and do in this beautiful country. While staying there we enjoyed incredible food prepared by Mark, a celebrated chef who hails from one of Toronto's hottest kitchens. It was the perfect mix of new flavours and the comforts of home. We never went hungry and Mark was more than accommodating, he was downright creative, when it came to dishes for the vegetarian and celiac in our group. Have been TWICE this year and will likely make our way back someday soon. Can't recommend it enough!

The Salt Lodge Restaurant has the best food, hands down. The creativity and flavours that chefs Mark and Nicole create were out of this world! The menu is dependent on what is in season and I wouldn't have it any other way. This way you knew the food was always fresh. I previously tasted chef Mark Ota's cuisine at his restaurant back in Toronto and the food quality still holds up. Each meal was like having a metropolitan level of food but all served beach side on a remote part of Nicaragua. No other experience like it. In fact, after the first dinner (side-note: best chicken I've had in a while), I soon realized that I was eagerly anticipating the next meal as much as I was looking forward to volcano boarding, deep sea fishing, baby turtle releases and so on. This alone speaks volumes to how much of an impression this restaurant, it's food, and it's staff made on our trip. I can't wait to come back just for the food. :) Shout-out to Rachel and Matt for their hospitality and making this restaurant accessible to us during the soft-open. And a big thank you to everyone involved with this restaurant. You all made this recent trip one we all won't soon forget. Cheers!

Although the Salt Lodge Restaurant was in development during our stay, my girlfriend and I were lucky enough to be invited to their first-ever communal dinner. And we're so glad we joined! The delicious meal was sourced entirely with local ingredients, and by "local" I mean one of their neighbors down the beach raised the shrimp himself. To this day, my girlfriend says it was the BEST dinner we had in Nicaragua. Keep up the good work team Salt Escapes, we'll be back again after the completion!
