  The guest experience at Miramar exceeded my expectations. I booked the surfer all-inclusive package which is designed for guests coming primarily for the waves. I enjoyed the boat rides to various surf spots, and surfing with other guests also staying at Miramar. The food was delicious and the portions more than adequate to refuel in between surf sessions. The staff was excited to have us here, they went above and beyond by keeping my dinner warm while I was away on a volcano tour. Upon my return, I was plesantly surprised when they served it to me at 9:30pm, long after most of the guests had gone to bed. As a surfer, you will have a great selection of waves. The staff will tactfully spread out the guests among different surf breaks in order to maximize the experience. I stayed in the standard room in the back of the hotel, it was quiet at night, the bed was very comfortable, and the A/C worked well. The shared bathrooms were cleaned daily. Due to the regular cleaning mosquitoes weren’t too much of an issue, I also used a lemongrass spray mix to help ward them off.

  I'm a bit torn by this place. The bar staff and surf instructors were absolutely amazing. We had a great time with them both in the water and around the pingpong table. Special shoutout to Rudy who made our experience unforgettable. The waves were gorgeous! Even for our level (beginner-intermediate) there were some pretty good spots (we both caught the wave of our lives) :) However, when we arrived nobody really showed us anything so it took a while to understand that the yoga was included for example and happening twice a day (which is absolutely great!), that your breakfast includes a juice, that you could get a pool towel and other stuff like this. A proper introduction to the place and explanation would have been great. They were doing some construction next to the pool so it was pretty noisy and unpleasant (and if not noisy then you had 8 guys staring at you). We were also there at the same time as a large group and definitely felt that they got the star treatment, which often meant that we were served last ect. They also pretty much occupied the entire place so it was difficult to find a quiet place between them and with the work going on at the pool. The whole camp (packages or individual nights) is overall quite expensive for Nicaragua. I think I would go back provided that the building work has been completed and that I'm not coming the same week as as a big retreat.

  It’s hard to overstate what an awesome time we had at Miramar Surf Camp, 8 days of surfing with Rudy and Saul got us from near beginner status to perfecting our pop ups and riding down the line at four different breaks. Not only great instructors but super solid people — just like everyone at Miramar. This was a father/son trip and I was a little worried going in that my 19yr old athlete son might not get enough to eat.. totally wrong! We ate SO well, three very good meals a day and ordered whatever we wanted in between. Great in water instruction was perfectly complemented by an end of the day photo review and coaching, setting us up for more success the next day… thx Corey!!! Massages, stretching class, Pilates, made each day better along with pool time with a good book. (And Toña’s, beautiful sunsets, 90° air 80° water and the awesome guys behind the bar!)   This place is as amazing as it people!!! A friend and I stumbled upon this place well motorcycle traveling through Central America. Neither of us are surfers and we were welcomed immediately into this family that Ciao, Leandro and all the staff at Miramar Surf Camp have built. We were even taken on a guided motorcycle ride with Ciao and Leandro. Cory the resident photographer joined and took some amazing shots of us riding. One of the best places I have ever visited. Whether surfer, motorcyclist or any traveler looking to feel part of something special, this is the place! Also need to mention how amazing all the food was!

  We had an amazing time at Miramar! The wave works beautiful, and went to Porto Sandina by boat, which was breaking so perfectly. We just did not like the atmosphere at Miramar surfcamp. The place is very big, hosting many people. Moreover, the owner was being unpredictable and even aggressive to some of the guests and I did not feel safe around him. If visiting Miramar again, I would stay in another place!
