::There's so many places that are great as a tourism, but a few specials like Finca Agroturística Don Chico, that makes u feel like a real home 🤍🌻🍃 His family has a history of son and daughters worker's, they preserve nature and transmit that who everyone that visited Macizo de Peñas Blancas 👏🏼 One of my favorites places in Nicaragua, u' have to visited, u' are gonna love it ♡ 🙌🏼

::Very Basic but super nice place! Not much to do besides the hiking! Its worth it to make a tour with don Chico! He seems old but is really fit! (He climbed trees and sometimes does 2 hikes in a day!) Food is Basic but good! Best place around. Thanks alot!

::We stayed here 1 night and it was amazing! To get here by public transport from Matagalpa: Take the bus at 6:00, 9:00, 10:00, 12:00 or 13:30 from Guanunca bus station. The busride takes about 3 hours and is beautiful. Get out at the junction of Penas Blancas and walk about 5 minutes. The last bus back to Matagalpa leaves around 16:00. You'll find Don Chico's place at your left. They have beautiful cabins and have 2 rooms with 2 bunk beds. It is a remote place so there is no wifi and there is only telephone service in certain spots. Don Chico is 84 years and still hikes up the mountains (for +-5 hours) without any support besides his machete. He uses his machete to clear the way for you; such a gentleman. There are plenty of places to hike to on his terrain (with or without guide) and loads of waterfalls to explore and swim in (take your swimming wear!). The place is mostly run by family members of Don Chico's. His sons help in building, guiding and farming. His daughters and wife help in the kitchen and prepare breakfast, which is included in the roomprice, lunch and dinner. Lunch and dinner cost about 100cordobas per meal. Even his granddaughters/sons help in the householding and receiving guests. If you go here you get to experience the real Nicaraguans culture to it roots! The tapwater is safe to drink since it's directly from the mountains. When we arrived around 12:00 the sun was out and it was a perfect day. When we met one of Don Chico's sons he told us we could go up the mountain with his brother Abram. He arranged lunch for us which was delicious!. Then we went up the mountain with his brother for about 5 hours. We walked through the cows field, his coffee and banana farm and then up the steep mountain to the cloud forrest. The envoirment is beautiful and there are loads of birds. We went birdspotting with Abram and one of his friends in the morning and we did see loads of toucans, tanagers, motmots and birds of prey. If you love living outdoors and hiking: GO HERE! Be prepared for some rain too. We were lucky with the weather, but especially during raining season it might rain a lot.

::Hands down best hike/ adventure I've ever had! My host abraham was fantastic! He is donchico son knowledgeable and very kind. The most amazing view in Penas Blancas. Definitely not an easy hike but 100% worth it!

::I was there two days ago and can highly recommend it, because: + friendly hosts + good food + a nice habitación with bathroom + organise a great tour with Mohsen + very fair pricing + the location: it is basically in the reserve of peñas blancas
