::My girlfriend and I had a really great time at Hulakai. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The family style dinners were a really nice way to sit down and get to know the other guests and Taco Tuesday was a great time with awesome live music. I would definitely recommend to anyone and am looking forward to returning myself.

::Great setting, with spectacular views, especially at sunset. Rooms are large but pretty basic. No matter, you want to spend your time at Playa Maderas (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) and the super hip pool/bar area. Staff is great, especially do it all bartender Alex.

::It is a lovely place but I agree with another review that it wasn't great for the value. There was no air conditioning, no hot water, and the wifi didn't work in our room. (We had all of those in much less costly but equally nice hotels in other places in Nicaragua.) Family dinners are nice but keep in mind there's no opportunity to select from a menu. The pool also didn't look clean. The view is magnificent, though, and the songbirds pleasant to wake to each morning.

::Loved our stay here. A little pricey for the back packing budget but beds were glorious, pool was wonderful, family dinners were great! Pool has projector room for watching movies! Surfing right down the hill. We meet a great bunch of people there and the staff were really lovely. Recommend it to everyone, and groups of all ages!

::HulaKai has hardworking, friendly, and extremely capable owners. The view overlooking the Pacific is but one of the many details that make this hotel a great place to stay. A major highlight in my day was the "Family Dinner's", a fine-dinning experience mixed with the ease and comfortable atmosphere of eating with great people.
