::My wife and I just spent two nights at Eco-Lodge Cascada Blanca in the hills of Matagulpa. I have to say we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The sound of the river and waterfall was very soothing especially at night. We explored the cave and waterfall as well as the down stream river. If you are into nature and bird watching this is an excellent place to stay. All the staff (and there are many) were all very helpful and kind. We asked for help carrying our luggage down as well as up the many and I mean many steps and they gladly helped. The restaurant food was very good as was the waiters. I can honestly say I recommend this Eco-lodge without hesitation. Go visit and enjoy. The only warning is there are a lot of steps so be in semi good shape. I being older and out of shape still enjoyed the stay, just had to take it slower.
